2009 Illinois Blues Blast Debut Artist of the Year Nominee, Dave Herrero grew up in the Tampa Bay area obsessed with music and American blues and rock and roll of the 1950's and 60's. Sneaking out of military school to play in local blues clubs at age 15 is how he cut his teeth, which prompted his move to Austin, TX, to learn from the best. The multi instrumentalist serves as a singer, songwriter and producer on his new album, "Corazón". ? “My grandfather, with a third-grade education, was arranging for 17-piece orchestras in the Dominican Republic by the age of 16. His band, Luis Herrero & The Dominican Serenaders, played the World’s Fair in NYC in 1939 and the first color broadcast television show ever out of NYC. So the way I see it, I’m simply carrying on a family tradition.”? ? Dave Herrero has always had an affinity for the finer things in life, like fine French wines and Cadillacs of the 40's. This carries over into his craft, and when he creates, he strives to create something beautiful and unique. "Corazón" crosses though genres of rock, psychedelia and singer songwriter music, but definitely owns the space it occupies. From the subtle space in songs like "Angeline", to the distorted growl of his guitar on "Old Sun", one can tell Herrero definitely is a force to be reckoned with. Just coming off of a successful 7 week tour of Europe, his album, "Corazón" was relased though Hero Music Group in March of 2013.
Pete Galanis is best known as guitarist for Chicago Blues/Jam Band, Howard & The White Boys, having joined the band in 2004 at just 26 years old. Galanis’ tight blues chops—coupled with his natural versatility at handling the funk, R & B, and rock styles that have become Howard & The White Boys trademarks—have magnificently slotted right in with the group’s signature sound and have also lent it an exciting, youthful exuberance, readily apparent on the bands new Evidence Records release "Made in Chicago".
