Mike Wheeler is a versatile and accomplished musician, renowned for his mastery of the Chicago blues scene. With a voice reminiscent of Sam Cooke and guitar skills that span genres from jazz to rock, Wheeler has become a cornerstone of the Windy City's musical landscape. His talent has led him to collaborate with notable artists such as Nellie Tiger Travis, Peaches Staten, and Demetria Taylor, as well as record five albums with Big James & The Chicago Playboys.

Wheeler's musical journey has taken him across the globe, performing in Monaco, France, Switzerland, Spain, and Belgium. He has shared stages with blues legends including Buddy Guy, B.B. King, and Koko Taylor, cementing his status as a world-class performer. In recognition of his contributions to the genre, Mike Wheeler was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame in 2014, solidifying his place as a true ambassador of Chicago blues.

Demetria Taylor

Demetria Taylor was born to sing the blues as she is the daughter of the legendary Chicago blues guitarist Eddie Taylor. The songs on ”Doin’ What I’m Supposed To Do“ are a balance of traditional blues and modern R&B, with some written by her family, some by fellow musicians Mike Wheeler and Larry Williams, one by the venerable Magic Sam, and two by Demetria herself.
