Over the past two decades, he has backed up numerous artists and shared the stage with blues legends such as Jimmy Johnson and Big James Montgomery. Leading his own band for the last 13 years, Luke's diverse repertoire spans old-school blues, contemporary blues, and hits by artists like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has also performed internationally in countries including Belgium, France, England, and Latvia.

Matthew Skoller is one of Chicago’s most respected harp blowers and blues bandleaders. Since 1987 he has played all of Chicago’s heaviest showcase venues and toured much of the world with his super tight ensembles. Deeply rooted in the tradition of the Chicago blues elders with whom he worked and studied, Skoller has developed a unique style that conjures the past while being firmly planted in the present. His blues wardrobe clothes a range of original songs whose subject matter comments on many of the issues and realities of life during this age of technology, information and upheaval. Raised in a small beach town outside of Tampa, Florida, Dave Herrero was introduced to the local and national music scene though a family friend, sneaking out of military school at age 15 to regularly to see bands like the Arc Angels and Johnny Winter, and to go to a local blues jam at the Green Iguana on Monday nights, where local heroes like James and Lucky Peterson would frequently pop in.

Herrero got his start as a professional touring musician in 1996 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, then moved to Austin, TX and joined Archie Bell and the Drells (of "Tighten Up" fame). In Austin, he quickly immersed himself into the Austin music community, playing with the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Charlie Sexton, Lazy Lester, Matt Powell, Seth Walker all the while starting the Blues Society of Austin with friends, Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff, Nancy Coplin and Nicole Shiro. John Primer has undisputedly helped shape the sound and style of Chicago blues. The echoes of tradition from the birthplaces he played, such as Maxwell Street, Theresa's, Checkerboard, and Rosa's Lounge, can be heard in every chord he plays. John Primer is a true Chicago Blues Living Legend.

Born in 1945 on a Mississippi sharecropper's land, Primer was inspired by his family's hard work, field songs, and the blues. His dream was to one day play with the legendary Muddy Waters.

In 1963, Primer moved to Chicago and began his journey to becoming a great bluesman. He started with a steady gig at the legendary Maxwell Street and then played seven nights a week for seven years at the famous Theresa's Lounge, where he was taught by the founding fathers of the blues.

Primer's talent caught the attention of Willie Dixon, who took him on tour with his Chicago Blues All-Stars Band. In 1981, Primer's dream came true when he got to play with Muddy Waters, who called him to lead his band, a life-changing experience.

After Muddy's passing, Primer joined Magic Slim & The Teardrops for 14 years, traveling the world. In 1995, he began leading his own band, The Real Deal Blues Band. Primer has been recorded on more than 87 albums, with 17 under his own name, and has written and produced over 55 songs.

Primer's contributions to the blues have been widely recognized. Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, The Jimmys are a 7-piece blues powerhouse that has been electrifying audiences across the Midwest and beyond. Led by the dynamic, six-time award-winning keyboardist Jimmy Voegeli on keyboards and vocals, Perry Weber on guitar and Chris Sandoval on drums, this high-energy ensemble delivers a potent blend of blues, roots rock, and old-school R&B.

With their killer horn section, greasy guitars, funky keys, and a rhythm section boasting a heart and soul as deep as the Mississippi, The Jimmys create a sound that's both timeless and fresh. Their performances are full-blown parties that leave audiences exhilarated and craving more.

Bob Corritore, born in Chicago in 1956, is a renowned blues harmonica player, producer, and promoter. Inspired by Muddy Waters at age 12, he mastered the harmonica under the guidance of Chicago blues legends. Now based in Phoenix, Corritore has released over 100 recordings, earned multiple music awards, and runs the Rhythm Room music venue. He continues to champion traditional blues through performances, productions, and his long-running radio show.

Join us to experience students working out the blues with their own bands from the Old Town School of Folk Music. Witness the transformation that seven weeks of practice can bring to their sound! These performances will feature multiple groups playing non-stop music from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Raised in a small beach town outside of Tampa, Florida, Dave Herrero was introduced to the local and national music scene though a family friend, sneaking out of military school at age 15 to regularly to see bands like the Arc Angels and Johnny Winter, and to go to a local blues jam at the Green Iguana on Monday nights, where local heroes like James and Lucky Peterson would frequently pop in.

Herrero got his start as a professional touring musician in 1996 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, then moved to Austin, TX and joined Archie Bell and the Drells (of "Tighten Up" fame). In Austin, he quickly immersed himself into the Austin music community, playing with the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Charlie Sexton, Lazy Lester, Matt Powell, Seth Walker all the while starting the Blues Society of Austin with friends, Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff, Nancy Coplin and Nicole Shiro. It was in Austin that Dave honed in on his guitar playing, singing and songwriting skills, that he then took with him to Chicago. More about Dave Herrero

As a versatile artist - vocalist, drummer, songwriter, and bandleader - she continues to enthrall global audiences with her soulful renditions and passionate dedication to her craft.

With a legacy spanning over a remarkable 25 years, Tom Holland (of the Shuffle Kings) have left an indelible mark on the global blues stage. Their musical journey has taken them to renowned clubs and prestigious festivals across the world, enchanting audiences with their soul-stirring performances.

At the heart of this musical force is Tom Holland, a blues virtuoso whose dedication to his craft has propelled him to remarkable heights. Tom's musical journey reads like a who's who of blues legends – from sharing the stage with the iconic John Primer to harmonizing with the legendary Eddy Clearwater. Most recently, Tom had the distinct privilege of collaborating with the late James Cotton, a true luminary of the blues genre. These experiences haven't just shaped his artistry; they've solidified his reputation as one of the most sought-after blues musicians in the contemporary scene.

Bob Stroger, at 94 years old, remains an active touring musician and a celebrated figure in the blues community. In 2025, he became the oldest performer ever inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, a testament to his enduring influence on the genre. Stroger also received the 2024 Blues Music Award for Instrumentalist – Bass, marking the fifth time he has earned this prestigious honor.

Born on December 27, 1930, near Hayti, Missouri, Stroger's journey into music began after moving to Chicago during his youth. Living near Silvio’s nightclub on the West Side, he was inspired by legends such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Initially self-taught on guitar, Stroger transitioned to bass under the encouragement of peers like Calvin “Fuzz” Jones and Bob Anderson. His early bands included the Red Tops and Joe Russell and the Blues Hustlers.

Stroger’s career took off in the 1970s when he joined Otis Rush’s band, becoming a cornerstone of Rush's rhythm section and gaining international recognition through touring and studio work. He later collaborated with Sunnyland Slim, Snooky Pryor, Pinetop Perkins, Jimmy Rogers, and many other blues icons. Encouraged by Sunnyland Slim, Stroger began singing and recording as a vocalist in the 1990.

As a solo artist, Stroger has released several albums, including In the House: Live at Lucerne (2002), Bob Is Back in Town (2006), Keepin’ Together (2014), and That’s My Name (2022), recorded with Brazil’s Headcutters blues band. His music reflects decades of experience and versatility, blending traditional blues grooves with his distinctive style.

Beyond performing, Stroger is dedicated to mentoring young musicians through programs like the Pinetop Perkins Foundation workshops. Known for his immaculate stage presence and warm demeanor, he continues to embody the spirit of Chicago blues while passing its legacy to future generations

Melody Angel is a dynamic force in the music world, often hailed as the powerhouse of "electric church music." With her soulful vocals and electrifying guitar skills, she captivates audiences on stages around the globe. Her self-titled album and accompanying international tour have garnered attention, enchanting fans across Germany and numerous cities in the U.S., including Chicago, Denver, and Florida. This October, she is set to perform a highly anticipated series of shows in Lima, Peru.

Critics universally praise Melody for her commanding stage presence and musical talent, drawing comparisons to legendary artists like Jimi Hendrix, Prince, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. A true prodigy, she taught herself to play guitar on a purple electric Fender Stratocaster that remains her companion today. In addition to guitar, Melody is a multi-instrumentalist skilled in piano, bass, and drums, showcasing her versatility by playing and producing her latest album single-handedly.
