Duwayne Burnside Band

Duwayne Burnside Band

Duwayne Burnside, a talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter, is part of the illustrious Burnside family from North Mississippi. Born as one of 14 children to the legendary musician R.L. Burnside and his wife, Alice, Duwayne inherited a rich musical heritage. From the early 1990s, he became a regular performer with the North Mississippi Allstars, a band fronted by Luther and Cody Dickinson.

Duwayne's musical journey began under the guidance of his father, who taught him his initial guitar licks and chords. However, his talent quickly flourished, and he soon found himself playing alongside local club owner Junior Kimbrough and the Soul Blues Boys. Growing up in Holly Springs, he was in proximity to Memphis, and as soon as he had the opportunity, he made his way to the city. There, he had the privilege of sharing the stage with renowned artists like Little Jimmy King, Albert King, B.B. King, Bobby "Blue" Bland, and many others, showcasing his impressive skills to a broader audience.
