Johnny Rawls is a renowned soul blues artist with a career spanning over 50 years. Born in Mississippi in 1951, he began his musical journey as a teenager, backing notable soul artists like ZZ Hill, Little Johnny Taylor

and Joe Tex. Rawls later became the band director for soul singer O.V. Wright and continued to lead Wright's band after his death.

In 1985, Rawls launched his solo career, releasing his debut album "Here We Go" in 1996. He has since released more than 20 albums and is recognized as a prolific songwriter with over 100 recorded songs.

Rawls has received numerous accolades throughout his career. He has been nominated multiple times for Blues Music Awards, with his album "I'm Still Around" winning Soul Blues Album of the Year in 2019. Living Blues Magazine featured him on their cover in 2002, describing him as a "saoul-blues renaissance man".

As a versatile musician, Rawls is not only a singer but also a guitarist, arranger, and record producer. He continues to tour extensively, performing approximately 200 shows annually across North America and overseas.

Raised in a small beach town outside of Tampa, Florida, Dave Herrero was introduced to the local and national music scene though a family friend, sneaking out of military school at age 15 to regularly to see bands like the Arc Angels and Johnny Winter, and to go to a local blues jam at the Green Iguana on Monday nights, where local heroes like James and Lucky Peterson would frequently pop in.

Herrero got his start as a professional touring musician in 1996 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, then moved to Austin, TX and joined Archie Bell and the Drells (of "Tighten Up" fame). In Austin, he quickly immersed himself into the Austin music community, playing with the likes of Gary Clark Jr, Charlie Sexton, Lazy Lester, Matt Powell, Seth Walker all the while starting the Blues Society of Austin with friends, Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff, Nancy Coplin and Nicole Shiro. Originally from Koblenz, Germany Stefan Hillesheim moved to the US in 2014. Stefan played in several gospel, funk, rock, and R&B groups in southern California before he relocated to Chicago, IL in pursuit of a full-time career as a blues musician. The blues has always been at the heart of Stefan’s passion for music - Chicago provided the ideal scene for him to grow as a blues artist and learn from the best and most authentic sources. Stefan is best known for his slide guitar playing, soulful vocals, and dynamic live performances. Being considered an "old soul", Stefan's main inspirations are Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, and Albert King.

With a legacy spanning over a remarkable 25 years, Tom Holland (of the Shuffle Kings) have left an indelible mark on the global blues stage. Their musical journey has taken them to renowned clubs and prestigious festivals across the world, enchanting audiences with their soul-stirring performances.

Ivy Ford is a rising star in the blues and soul music scene, hailing from the Chicagoland area. A multi-talented artist, Ford showcases her skills as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, drawing from a diverse range of musical influences while staying true to her blues and soul roots.

Ford's career took off in 2015 when she opened for the legendary Buddy Guy in Chicago, leaving a lasting impression that solidified her place in the industry. In less than a decade, she has achieved remarkable success, including international performances with two tours in France and Belgium, as well as regular appearances across the United States, from coast to coast and throughout the Midwest.

A prolific artist, Ford has independently produced and released three full-length original albums, along with several singles. Her work has garnered numerous nominations for both her recordings and songwriting, as well as her live performances.

Sonia Astacio, an emerging figure in the Chicago Blues scene, graces renowned venues such as Buddy Guy’s Legends, Blue Chicago, Kingston Mines, and Rosa’s Lounge. A Chicago native born to a Dominican-American family, she discovered her passion for music through singing in church. Initially captivated by Jazz, Sonia's musical journey shifted after experiencing the Blues performances of Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones. Infusing her Afro-Latina heritage, she brings a unique touch to Blues standards in Spanish. Leading The Sonia Astacio Band, she delivers a live performance that mirrors her Chicago upbringing as a black Latina.

Jimmy Burns, born in Mississippi in 1943, is a contemporary blues musician. He moved to Chicago as a child and became involved in gospel and folk music. With his unique blend of Delta blues, R&B, and soul, Burns is known for his melodic guitar style and expressive lyrics. His 1996 debut album won "Best Blues Record of the Year" and he continues to perform worldwide.

Mike Wheeler is a versatile and accomplished musician, renowned for his mastery of the Chicago blues scene. With a voice reminiscent of Sam Cooke and guitar skills that span genres from jazz to rock, Wheeler has become a cornerstone of the Windy City's musical landscape. His talent has led him to collaborate with notable artists such as Nellie Tiger Travis, Peaches Staten, and Demetria Taylor, as well as record five albums with Big James & The Chicago Playboys.

Our focus is on creating the best possible music. Ariyo currently is a permanent member of Billy Branch & The S.O.B.'s. Ben Levin is a blues pianist/vocalist from Cincinnati, OH. Ben has released four albums on the Vizztone label and has two Blues Music Award nominations, along with five Blues Blast Awards nominations. Ben's latest album, "Take Your Time", featured collaborations with Blues legends Lil' Ed, Bob Stroger, and Lil’ Jimmy Reed. Based on the success of their single "I've Been Drinking Muddy Water", Ben and Lil' Jimmy collaborated again in the studio with Ben producing and co-writing songs with Jimmy. "Back to Baton Rouge" was released in May 2023 on NOLA Blue and reached number two on Living Blues radio charts. "Both musicians have perfectly matched and understood themselves to give us a repertoire that includes five covers and five original songs, that are a heartfelt tribute to the most traditional old-time blues. Jimmy Burns is a versatile musician with deep roots in the Chicago blues scene. Born in 1943 in Dublin, Mississippi, Burns moved to Chicago with his family at the age of twelve in 1955. His musical journey began early, learning to play the diddly bow and guitar as a child, influenced by his father's musical abilities and the blues records they listened to at home.

In Chicago, Burns initially pursued doo-wop and R&B, singing with groups like the Medallionaires as a teenager. He recorded several singles in the 1960s and early 1970s, which have since become rare collectors' items, especially in the UK's Northern Soul scene.

After taking a break from professional music to focus on family and run a BBQ restaurant, Burns returned to the blues scene in the early 1990s. He was signed to Delmark Records and released his breakthrough album "Leaving Here Walking" in 1996, which earned critical acclaim and awards.

Burns' style blends traditional Delta blues with R&B, soul, and even elements of jazz and rock. He's known for his strong vocal abilities and guitar skills, as well as his songwriting. Throughout his career, he has toured extensively, playing festivals in Europe, Russia, and South America.

Today, Burns continues to perform and record, often collaborating with younger musicians. He hosts an open mic night at Buddy Guy's Legends and is working on a new album called "Full Circle" with a jazz quartet. In 2012, Galanis collaborated with Manos on their debut album, featuring all-original music. Additionally, in 2010, he became part of Rob Blaine's Big Otis Blues, contributing to the band's debut album, "Big Otis Blues." Rick King, a native of Chicago's South Side, has established himself as a versatile and accomplished musician in the world of funk and soul. With a career spanning over two decades, King has made a name for himself as both a skilled drummer and a charismatic frontman.

King's musical journey began behind the drums, where he honed his craft playing for legendary artists such as KoKo Taylor, Buddy Guy, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and B.B. King. His talents took him on global tours, allowing him to share stages with some of the most influential figures in blues and rock 'n' roll.

As a founding member of the funk-soul-jam band Lubriphonic, King further showcased his musical prowess. During his time with the band, he not only played drums but also took on the role of producer, contributing to five of their records.

In recent years, King has embarked on a new chapter in his musical career, stepping out from behind the drums to front his own band, Rick King's Royal Hustle. As the lead vocalist and percussionist, he leads a seven-piece ensemble complete with a horn section. Lurrie Bell, born in 1958, is a renowned Chicago blues guitarist and vocalist. The son of legendary blues harmonica player Carey Bell, Lurrie was immersed in the blues from an early age. He taught himself to play guitar at five and grew up surrounded by Chicago blues legends like Eddie Taylor, Big Walter Horton, and Muddy Waters.

Bell's prodigious talent was evident early on. By 17, he was performing with Willie Dixon, and in 1977, he co-founded The Sons of Blues. His career took off quickly, joining Koko Taylor's band in 1978 and recording with his father throughout the 1980s.

In the late 1980s, Bell made a strong comeback in the mid-1990s with a series of acclaimed albums on Chicago's Delmark label. In 2007, he launched his own label, Aria B.G. Records, releasing the highly praised "Let's Talk About Love."

Bell's achievements include multiple Blues Music Award nominations, a Grammy nomination for his work on "Chicago Blues: A Living History," and international recognition with the Prix du Blues award from L'Academie du Jazz in France.

Joanna Connor is a blues guitarist and singer who discovered her passion for music at a young age. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was influenced by diverse musical styles, including blues legends like Buddy Guy and Taj Mahal.

Connor moved to Chicago in 1984 to immerse herself in the blues scene. She quickly became part of the city's vibrant music community, performing with renowned artists such as Junior Wells, Otis Rush, and Koko Taylor. In 1988, she formed her own band and released her debut album "Believe It" in 1990. Throughout her career, Connor has toured internationally, released numerous albums, and shared stages with blues, rock, and jazz greats.

In recent years, viral videos of her slide guitar solos reignited interest in her music. Born in 1945 on a Mississippi sharecropper's land, Primer was inspired by his family's hard work, field songs, and the blues. His dream was to one day play with the legendary Muddy Waters.

In 1963, Primer moved to Chicago and began his journey to becoming a great bluesman. He started with a steady gig at the legendary Maxwell Street and then played seven nights a week for seven years at the famous Theresa's Lounge, where he was taught by the founding fathers of the blues.

Primer's talent caught the attention of Willie Dixon, who took him on tour with his Chicago Blues All-Stars Band. In 1981, Primer's dream came true when he got to play with Muddy Waters, who called him to lead his band, a life-changing experience.
